Viagra FAQ – What you should know about Viagra

Buy Viagra online but read this FAQ before use.

What is erectile dysfunction?

This is the unfortunate failure of your body to respond to sexual stimulation with an erection or, if there is an opening erection, it suddenly and unexpectedly fails before you reach a climax.

What causes it?

The process of erection depends on the artery leading into the penis dilating as the response to the sexual stimulation. If anything prevents this dilation or triggers an early contraction, the erection will fail.

What does Viagra do?

PDE5 is the key chemical messenger that decides when the artery will contract. Viagra prevents this messenger from appearing at the wrong time. This allows your artery to expand and contract as required.

Is Viagra for all men?

It would be very unusual for a young man to have problems with an erection unless there were physical injuries preventing the erection, he was seriously depressed, or he was taking drugs which had erectile dysfunction as their side effect. Viagra will not be effective in these cases. In almost all other cases, Viagra will be effective to produce an erection.

When should you take particular care?

You must not take Viagra if you are also taking a drug containing a nitrate. Such drugs are usually prescribed to treat the symptoms of heart disease. You must take advice if you have recently had a stroke or heart attack. Resuming sexual activity may be tiring and potentially dangerous. Secondly, you need to ensure none of the drugs to control blood pressure or heart rate will interact adversely with Viagra. The dosage may also need to be adjusted if you have liver or kidney disease. Finally, there is a slight risk of unwanted side effects if you have any inherited eye condition and you have an unhealthy lifestyle, e.g. you smoke.

What dose is right for you?

Your doctor or pharmacist should advise depending on your weight and medical history. Once the dose is set, do not change it without your doctor’s approval. More importantly, do not take more than one tablet every 24 hours. Allow at least half an hour before the expected activity — longer if you have recently eaten a heavy meal. In general, it’s not advisable to drink a lot of alcohol with Viagra.

What are the side effects?

The majority of men take Viagra without any adverse effects. In all clinical trials, only a very small percentage of men experience anything sufficiently serious to justify discontinuing the use of Viagra. The majority of side effects are mild and pass quite quickly. They are symptoms similar to the common cold, e.g. a blocked or runny nose, a slight sore throat, etc., a headache, back pain or an upset stomach. More rare but potentially serious, some men discover they are allergic to Viagra. Others experience priapism, i.e. a long-lasting and increasingly painful erection, a distortion or loss of vision, loss of hearing, or chest pain, difficulty in breathing and an irregular heart beat. Go to an emergency room for treatment.
